1. EMBRACE THE VISION FOR INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY
a. Pray for clarity of understanding, renewed spiritual resolve, church-wide perseverance
b. Educate yourselves regarding Biblical teaching on the Great Commission
c. Embrace the Biblical teaching on the mission of the church to evangelize the world
d. Educate yourselves regarding the myriad methodologies of and challenges to International Ministry
e. Develop an informed vision for the International Ministry of your church
f. Evaluate your current involvements and future considerations
g. Establish your church’s principles and priorities for International Ministry—Focused, Purposeful, Strategic
h. Pursue communication and dialogue with international ministry organizations you favor
i. Establish your vision among your leadership, then throughout your church
j. Articulate your vision
i. Teach
ii. Incorporate
iii. Reinforce
k. Initiate graciously but intentionally the necessary changes in your current international ministry after making every effort to educate your leaders, the church family, your international workers (Be mindful of how changes effect those overseas)
2. CULTIVATE THE CHURCH’S INVOLVEMENT IN INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES

3. DEVELOP PERSONNEL TO SERVE IN INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES
a. Begin with church leaders who will oversee the development and establishment of your church’s international ministry
i. They must understand and embrace your church’s theological and philosophical commitments
ii. They must be churchmen with a passion for the church’s responsibilities and role in the Great Commission
iii. They must be shepherds who understand the unique challenges to international ministry workers
b. Ability to identify potential candidates for international ministry
i. Expose – To speakers, workers, and work that will challenge
ii. Educate – In current needs and opportunities; demographics, history and current status of the church and mission activities of countries/peoples under consideration, contemporary theological and methodological trends
iii. Equip – For effectiveness in theology, ministry/leadership experience and skills, Culture and Language Acquisition
c. S-Teams (Pro-Active Ministry Teams)
i. Sending – Leadership shepherding through sending process and continuing when on field
ii. Supporting – Financial commitment
iii. Sustaining – Prayer, correspondence, encouragements, short-term teams, etc.
